Ann Rauscher - Pilates Instructor/Physical Therapist
(photo Pat Gregory)
Ann grew up on a Dairy Farm in Indiana and still loves to visit her family there but has called Park City home for 5 years. At Purdue University she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and the Purdue Golduster Dance Team. After a brief stint in the Windy City (Chicago), she headed to Park City for a little hiatus. In classic Park City fashion, Ann arrived in Utah in 2009 and has yet to make the ‘return trip’.
While completing her education to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Utah, she took on clinical internships including pediatric, acute care, neuro rehab (stroke, spinal cord, brain injury), cancer specialties, and orthopedics. In addition, she had the privilege of caring for community members with disabilities and injuries in Kajuki, Kenya during a service trip with Youthlinc.
She discovered Pilates through the complimentary therapies introduced by her professors at the University and later used Pilates as a part of her own healing.
In her leisure time, Ann enjoys downhill skiing, snowshoeing, camping, hiking, discovering new forms of movement through various forms of exercise, biking, and trail running in Park City.
Merri Smith - Pilates Apprentice
Merri is a home grown tomboy, born and raised in Northern Utah. She grew up in an active family with interest in machines, the fun ones! And gymnastics. Growing up in a machine shop with everything to do . . . boating, dragsters, go-carts, four wheelers, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and wave runners you learn to have a great deal of fun with your body. With the help of body building and strength training, Merri learned how to help facilitate healing an injured body. She has learned how to heal injury through personal experience. In 2007, Merri also had an accident with a motorcycle and escaped with minor injuries. Later to discover a deeper injury of the pelvic, groin region known as athletic pubalgia or sportsmen hernia.
